Ingredients

Featured Ingredient

  • 1 cup penne pasta
  • 1 ½ cups peas
  • 1 packed cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 scoops Pronativ Unflavored Native Whey
  • ¼ cup walnuts or pine nuts
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup pasta water (reserved from the pot)

Directions

  1. Cook your pasta in salted water according to the package directions. Before draining, scoop out about half a cup of the starchy pasta water and set it aside.
  2. Put the peas, basil, Pronativ powder, nuts, garlic, Parmesan, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt into a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot (with the heat turned off). Pour the pea pesto over the pasta, the reserved pasta water and toss thoroughly. Serve warm.
